While that makes things more awkward I'm glad to see that you're trying to make the service pay for itself, there hasn't been a lot of that on nostr so far because everyone is happy to give stuff away for free right now. An eCash (or even zap-based) solution would go a long way towards solving this, but for something that is as frequent as wot queries, an account-based model might still make the most sense. Maybe clients could add a setting that would allow them to autopay for microtransactions. But, as with any usage-based pricing model there can be surprises when you look at your invoice. Tricky.
