That's a good way to describe what I've tried (and failed) to convey in the past. I genuinely don't think most people have the ability to hold more than a handful of lenses (premises), or they are unable to keep contradictory models for long without feeling heavy cognitive dissonance.
I've helped some guys start to get it by describing essentialism as "things are before they're understood."
