Christi Junior (npub1rjh…uefa) salty_apollyon (npub166n…vnht) I remember one of my ol' pals, Anarchangel, talking about ancient history on how Democrats like Hillary Clinton and communists like Tipper Gore were the earlier peddlers of policy for gaming censorship back in the '90s. The idea that it was all just the "Religious Right" is utterly ridiculous, as history clearly shows bipartisan support for such causes. The shifting of all blame onto the Religious Right was clearly a form of media psy-ops, if anything.
And if anything, these days, it's clearly the Democrats pushing for censoring video games and shoving shitlib indoctrination into every single hobby.
If the Republicans /weren't/ a retarded controlled-opposition party, they'd embrace video games, and use it to promote certain right-wing values, like sound economic policies, preserving the integrity of the family unit, maintaining law and order, fighting to defend one's homeland from hostile foreign threats, etc... Most of these values are already inherent in gaming, with city/civilization simulators, first person shooters [including the more grounded and realistic tactical shooters], RPG games, and so forth.
The U.S. Military already understood this on some level, given their involvement in the Call of Duty series. [Mind you, the Military is not even remotely a right-wing institution, especially with what it's fighting for today... But it serves as a useful example.]
