So, one arm of the v-brake isn't popping back into 'disengaged' position when I release the brake.
Standard methods for centering the brake pads (adjusting the spring tension) didn't work. Next step I think is to detatch the cable and see how it feels sliding it by hand, grease everything, check there's no shoe underhang, then see about making bigger changes to the spring tension than the tensioning screw alone can accomplish.
