FWIW. The wedding I most enjoyed was when a pal from a showbiz family decided to elope at home, as it were.
A short service at the Little Brown Church in Studio City with guests who happened to be in town. Then a small dinner-dance at a nice restaurant on Ventura Boulevard. None of the usual wedding reception tropes. None.
She was only 25, it was totally impromptu, and it was fairly inexpensive as weddings go. But it felt far more elegant and grown-up than any other wedding I've ever attended.
