I don't think they turn a blind eye, necessarily. Probably hard to do that with Jagmeet sneering into your ear all day. But they are likely being over-cautious.
I mentioned elsewhere a few days ago that cutting off Medicare transfers entirely might be the provinces' plan B.
Plan A is to keep getting federal money to shovel at private clinic, Plan B is have justification for full privatization.
