I quit smoking 22 years ago today.
My advice on quitting smoking -- get someone to lock you up in a room where you can't get a cigarette for one solid week. That's the hardest part of quitting, getting over the physical addiction.
After that come the dreams of dancing with a 7-foot cigarette, and the belief that you will always be a smoker, but eventually after 10 or so years, that trails off and your inner smoker seems to accept that that part of your life is over.
Smoking came incredibly close to killing me.
So thanks for the extra 22 years! :-)
