You can give a villain an iPhone if you want. People cover up logos out of cowardice. A trademark doesn’t give the holder the right to dictate the brand use in fiction.
If you have a license agreement with Apple, in which they’re paying you, yeah they may have rules.
So if someone says this, they’re either afraid of something that can’t happen, taking money from a brand owner, or both.
