sal sokolińskie (npub13u9…8j9c) you know christian anarchism is a thing? it actually predates modern secular anarchism for some centuries – for example Kropotkin speaks highly of the the Anabaptists during protestant reformation or the Diggers during English Civil War.
And it seems that you’re assuming that every religious person understands god as a tyrannical cloud daddy, i.e. like a crude fundamentalist, Sylwia clearly doesn’t think of god in these terms, not saying you have to agree but if you’re gonna critique religious perspectives you shouldn’t resort to characatures
Sylwia آمنة 🏳️⚧️ (npub166y…6dc6) “God punishes the bad people and rewards good people accordingly”
Christians and Muslims think this way, there’s bits that imply this in the so called Old Testament but in other parts ( I’m thinking of Job, Isaiah or Ecclesiastes) the Creator is totally indifferent to human suffering, the old Hebrew religion is very existential in that way, and from what I understand modern Judaism has no heaven or hell, everyone goes to the same place in death, so one should act good and godly not because god will reward you but just because it’s good to do so.
Like Job after having his entire life destroyed meets God and he’s like “why are you doing this? Haven’t I been good? and God’s like “How dare you ask me that? You can’t possibly comprehend my motives, you people are ants to me” ( paraphrasing here )
