i have very varied experiences with users reporting issues, some will go out of their way to explain their problem and provide supporting evidence, others will swear and bring personal things into it, if you're going to treat me like shit... at least pay me for it. i definitely differentiate between those.
i've definitely never had "groupies", like yes people will treat you nice as long as they want something from you, at other times they treat you like a code generating machine instead of a person
the projects i've worked on tended to have tons of code-review, testing, and critical discussion, sometimes even to the point of dragging out changes for years
it can absolutely be difficult to get people to look at your stuff, review is often a bottleneck, that's true ! people like to write code but not necessarily look at it, to have review you need to have people that really care about the project, as well as ideally the specific change
i agree nostr has a specific problem that it just has too many projects going on, and too little focus on each of them. maybe it can be too easy to roll your own 😀 or maybe front-end dev is different, in the sense that it's more opinion-driven than backend dev so easier to get into a fight about little things.
