Here are some questions for #webscience researchers who wish to look into the #nostr social network.
Answers to this question should help us understand what kind of #socialmachine it is.
What are its advantages and limitations?
Some questions:
- does running one's own instance use up a lot of memory? I remember
😷 Jan Wildeboer (npub1kar…qlv8) writing earlier this year that running #Mastodon instances was memory-consuming. Perhaps people have written about this?
- Why are some relays paying? What advantages do they claim to have over others?
- Has anyone yet done a cluster analysis of nostr posts to understand how the social networks cluster and which relays need to be reached if one does not want to reach the widest audience or listen to the most diverse folks?
