The bigger picture is that the web is awesome, but we can make it even better. And nostr is a tiny innovative part of the web that makes it better. Block tried to innovate with web5 but it was tough to make progress with a difficulat complex stack, so they stopped the initiative. I think most have got new jobs now, though technically the project is still there. Nostr is good, but doesnt scale, and there are some barriers. I've been working on a solution to this called did-nostr which fixes most of the problems with web5, and is now starting to work. Hopefully the benefits will reach more users over time, esp. in the broader web eco system.
