I think the 1% vs the 99% is supposed to reflect the percentage of people specifically, not the ratio of inequality. But other than that yes definitely. We are kept out of the loop of the elite, so we can guess but don't really know how much power and wealth they have, or how they work with each other to gain more in their microcosm.
I see 2 solutions. 1 is that the corporations decide to change. Near 0 chance of that happening.
The other is us, the people band together and remove all consumerism from them. I can see that gaining traction over time, but it will be too late by the point it becomes effective.
So I'm of the same mindset of it probably being too late.
