They don't work that way. They have a public face they put on, and then when they are all alone, they celebrate Purim, the deliverance from the wicked Haman (another gentile who persecuted them.) Or possibly the Passover, where they let the enemies of the city come in to slaughter the inhabitants, but were mysteriously spared by special marks on their doors.
