I've been trying to rationalize my reluctance to use any of my faster/"better" computers as my main workstation, and instead use a laptop with only 8 GB of RAM and a 5th gen Intel processor, but I think it boils down to the fact that purposefully using a "slower" device leads to more conscious decision in both writing and choosing/using software.
