The Roman Empire was so vast that it stretched from Britain in the north to Egypt and Syria in the east, to Morocco and Spain in the west, and as far south as modern-day Libya. At its peak, the empire covered approximately 5 million square miles (13 million square kilometers) - roughly 10% of the Earth's land area!
