The ship has been at sea for sometime. One of the points of Occupy Wall Street was the control of finance capitalism over federal policy. BDS had been countering the influence of fascist Zionism for decades. The generational presence of high stakes lobbying firms in DC is a cosmetic and cynical exercise of politics: K Street may be located in Washington, but it consistently undermines any democratic action with obscene amounts of money. The “wealth extremists” (are there any other kind?) are simply the latest iteration of the lurch to the right the US perennially makes.
