Currently using Sparrow Wallet + ElectrumRS + Coldcard . All bundled in a raspberrypi raspiblitz.
Great user experience + you get to ssh and tinker with more advanced features.
The only hurdle for someone new to Bitcoin would be understanding how to use bip32 in my opinion.
