Just thinking about conversations I had with my Pakistani friend about the Potato Famine and Partition and how neither of us were taught about the other.
That part about how the British were draining all the resources they could out of Ireland and that's why they were left with only diseased potatoes to eat, just like how the British drained India of resources.
And as a person of Scotch-Irish descent in Canada, having all the stuff that happened to my ancestors erased so that I can be a good colonial citizen in service of the Queen. They need us to forget so we can help them oppress Indigenous people here.
