Installing the current Debian "testing" (which will become Debian 13 "trixie" next year), when installed with a snapshot of the in-development official Debian installer results in a machine that works well enough for me. Being a cranky old man, I'll want to use my own installer for Debian, which means adapting so that it can install "testing" instead of "stable". That should be doable.
