I'm not sure what you mean by "rate limiting accounts" but the only restriction I'm aware of, having talked with [@ambassador](https://photog.social/@ambassador ) about it a while back, is that he was looking at introducing an automatic deletion of comments from other instances after a year to free up storage. The cost of running the instance is always increasing, like everything else in life, so he is always grateful of any donations, one-off or monthly via Patreon, towards the cost of keeping photog.social running.
