#WritersCoffeeClub 21: Do you agree with Rose Tremain, who says you shouldn't plan a book's ending; it must instead be earned?
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha no.
Indeed, many of my very favorite stories feel weird right up until a well-planned ending illuminates everything that went before, whereas many of the stories I hate the most feel like they're moving smoothly right up until they step on a rake at the end.
Earn the ending, plan the ending--I don't care. Just make sure it's good.
