This is the first in a series of threads on the theme of Things I Never Wrote. Two circumstances have inspired it. One is the fact that BCDreyer, over on the bird site, took the occasion of Janet Leigh’s birthday to post my favorite shot in all of Hitchcock, which he called his “favorite prop in the history of cinema.” The other is the general end-of-days feeling that the situation on Twitter has created. It makes me want to take care of things I never got around to.
