Saw an interesting little story a while back. I wish I had saved the link. It was an issue of an old druggie zine from I think the 90s. I was it a faggot zine? I think it was a druggie one.
A guy had his letter published in the zine. So of course there's nothing proving it was not entirely fictional.
He says he was Australian and in the 60s or 70s (I think he claimed) a colleague noticed he was gay. The colleague said he used to be gay himself but went to a private clinic in Melbourne that cured him with LSD.
The treatment was basically dosing them up on LSD and encouraging them to confront the sexual abuse trauma that made them gay.
One of the nurses he described there fit the description of Anne-Hamilton Byrne.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Family_(Australian_New_Age_group)
The language he used was weird. He said something like... Confronting the trauma seemed evil and satanic to him so he instead resisted that part and apparently kept going to the clinic just for some free trips.
But then he described it as Satan winning and him remaining a "happy"drugged out faggot to this day who hallucinates without even taking more drugs.
