Many revolutionary theorists argue that there is no such thing as too disruptive, because movements need an extreme flank. Even if the extreme and the mainstream hate each other, they're symbiotic: The flank makes compromise with the reformist camp politically palatable, while the center provides the flank with a path to compromise.
