As industries continue to produce more (fossil fuel based) plastic, that means more plastic pollution. Recycling plastic simply isn't good enough, because eventually, the plastic will degrade, breakup into tiny pieces, etc, and end up polluting the natural environment.
There are a few brands that are dedicated to using biodegradable materials.
