The most mundane speech will go viral on X or Threads, almost exclusively because a big brand reposted it. To some extend that happens on every platform, but nowhere near the degree as happens there. I know from watching friends that far too many of us secretly crave that dubious sense of achievement. I should have realized much earlier how terrible some people were by their obsession with follower counts and retweets. That failure cost me in more ways than I care to recount.
