The riots in UK are a very sad thing to witness.
The governement's response to this has been to increase control over information disseminated on social media.
Mainstream media are supporting this narrative of censorship of free speech as they have a financial incentive to do so. Digital media has been threatening their business models for decades and staff at the news companies are doing whatever they have to sustain their salaries.
There is likely to be increasing encroachments on our right to free speech as the chaos on the streets gets worse across the world.
Twitter/X has been censored before and as long as it is a company with a board of directors, there are people that can be pressured to conform to goverment instructions.
It is now more important than ever to continue to build Nostr as a free speech system where we cannot be shut down.
