Long term I think america is simply a project. Western Civ stumbled upon the nicest piece of real estate on the globe and turned it into a milk cow. Everything we have been fed about opportunity, capitalism, democracy, pluralism etc is to keep the cow producing milk. The dangling carrot has varied over the centuries but it all just seems to be a project to juice this orange until it's dry.
