Had a dream last night that I walked into a company’s office and asked to be interviewed for a programming job.
Uncharacteristically, I was wearing a bright orange t-shirt, dress slacks, and had bare feet. I passed the screen test at the reception desk, then went to the first technical, whiteboard interview.
They asked me a pretty standard logic puzzle. “Which truck did he take?” There were four possible trucks, with a bunch of characteristics and stats on each. Separately, there were clues about which truck he took in the form of logic assertions.
The task was simple enough. You just had to eliminate options based on the provided criteria until only one remained. But I couldn’t do it, probably because it was a dream and I was hallucinating the criteria.
It was frustrating. Felt like I was missing something simple, but couldn’t nail it down. Never made it to the second interview. Woke up still frustrated. #dreamstr
