Fundamentally posting to a website blog or to bluesky or nostr or twitter is the same kind of thing: End users create content and share it with the world.
The reason social media seems to think it needs "blocking" is because a new generation of young authoritarians want to control other people, whereas when websites were invented, people were not so authoritarian.
At least that is what I believe in a nutshell.
