#OTD 14 September 1854 Eli Christopher Wilson was born in northern Alabama, the oldest son of Elizabeth Childers and John Wilson. He had 7 older siblings through his father. Before the Civil War, the family moved to Arkansas, where John was bushwhacked due to his pacifist views. Eli and his 4 younger brothers fled to Illinois with their mother, who remarried and had 2 more children, including my great-grandmother.
