When we were taught 'common lisp' at university, it was on Betz's original XLISP 1.something on 80186 machines, with a heavy disclaimer that 'this isn't the object system common lisp will use'

I occasionally return to XLISP-PLUS every now and then, but it's not really a viable development system these days.

I never tried XLISP-STAT so I have no idea how it deviates from XLISP/XLISP-PLUS
