peppers aren't annuals they're perineal plants in the right climate, however they're only really productive their first year, thent hey slow down, tomatoes are in fact hte same way, that being said, where i live, they are annuals, and self pollinators so te seeds can be easily saved as long as you don't grow different types too close, becuase bees can still cause xpollination.
