Slowly but surely we're starting to phase out external software vendors and moving our software in house. Here's a peak of what I've got so far with a back office server manager app. It's very barebones right now, but LDAP authentication works (mostly), one of our cloud vendors is (mostly) integrated (I have to write a PHP class as they don't have one), and I've learned a lot about MVC by creating our own framework from scratch.
