For what it’s worth back in 2008 I thought the App Store had been opened *too* far. I’d expected a game console style relationship where there’d be far fewer apps, Apple would help developers more closely, review would be in-depth with actionable feedback, and each submission may close a fair amount of money. Obviously, Apple went far more open but I’m not sure quite struck the best balance. This EU App Store will be a fascinating experiment.
