Nobody owes the Democrats their votes. If the Democrats really wanted Nader/Stein/West voters, they should get off their asses and make themselves appealing to those voters. It would be easy, too; most West supporters are former Bernie supporters, so it’s not like they’re unwilling to support the Democrats. Instead, the Democratic Party has done just about everything in their power to alienate them.
And, worse, as if to prove how undeserving they are of anyone’s support, rather than even try to reach out to West supporters, the Democrats have instead tried to get the Green Party removed from the ballot entirely. How ironic that a party that calls itself “Democratic” has such contempt for democracy.
Blaming people who are fed up with the many, many failings of the Democratic Party for not propping the party up when it is so much garbage that it even makes Republicans look good to huge swaths of the country is not going to win their hearts. It’s only going to make them even less motivated to support you. If you want West’s voters, do some fucking politicking and EARN THEIR VOTES, rather than blaming them for your own failings.
