I think people make a big mistake starting with a big kiln— hard to move, hard to maintain and hard to fill. Better to have portable, easier to fix and easily filled again and again because finished fired work is fun! I have had my second kiln for thirty years, a skutt, half the size of a trash can, 120 plugs in like a power drill, anywhere, and interior the size of a shoebox or 2, holds 4-8 pieces but firing to cone six.
