What's wild to me, is that I could have travelled to all of these events, in theory (Idaho, Boston, Ohio - all in <2 weeks).
And yes, you get way more and easier science discussions in person. But... we have to cut back on this. Pick 1 in-person conference a year, if that? Expecting scientists to travel this much is unrealistic.
I'm glad I can do all of these remotely, and still (hopefully) have a few informal Zoom discussions too. This is a very good use of technology, and I appreciate it.
