Just wrote my Senators. You should too.
Honorable Senator,
I was just made aware in the article linked below that the DOE is making requests of private businesses to collect data. This is unconstitutional and I hope as my Senator you will reach out and hold this federal agency accountable. The agency is seeking to subvert a private business, has not sought a warrant in court and is only targeting one specific industry. How citizens decide to purchase and use energy is a right of every citizen and in a free society the government should not be dictating how we consume energy. We do.
I hope you will use this as a chance to hold hearings and force a more informative discussion on Bitcoin and its use in the energy sector and how the free market and Bitcoin is helping utilities generate more abundant, affordable and green energy.
