Yesterday, farmers in southern Syria shared how they were prevented from accessing their fields by the IOF. Today, residents from the surrounding areas gathered near Maariyah to protest Israel’s presence in Syria. The occupation forces opened fire on the protesters hitting at least one person.
Maariya is on the western edge of Syria’s southern Daraa province, it is located near Syria’s occupied Golan Heights, but outside of the buffer zone that was established in the 1974 ceasefire agreement between Syria and Israel.
