The ironic thing about decentralized social apps is that their very structure makes them worse at the things the media gives centralized services a hard time over; privacy & content moderation.
Anyone can setup a server, sign up people, manage it how they see fit and then share information with other servers is basically a Wild West for content moderation and respecting user privacy.
The usage of Bluesky & Mastodon has just been too low to warrant any real scrutiny.
