I went into resource monitor and saw 179 processes were running
Which doesn't sound that bad but they were using SIX THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND TWELVE threads.

COMPLETELY IDLE SYSTEM NOTHING OPEN

Immediately my question is answered why windows is so fucking slow. Linux is using about 800.
