I think the biggest misconception about hashpools is that it's about mining payouts. It does fix payouts but it's actually much bigger than that.
It fixes the incentives of mining by separating the roles of pricing hashrate and producing block templates.
It also creates a borderless market for buying KYC-free bitcoin. For miners who wish to sell their hashrate it funnels this privacy premium into their pockets.
