The morning cannot be avoided
The night can be outlived
Stay awake nay do not surrender
to the temptation of slumber.
I see many veins
these streams underfoot
yearning to touch
as rivers unto the valley.
Everybody wants to be seen
lofting over upon the hill
Where sun and wind beat
and water runs away.
So, I'll wander the lowly grounds
liberate what hinders these trickling flows
for water is life
with strength to carve through stone.
These are the paths of least resistance
for resist I do and so am weary.
Bearer of water and burning visions
follow the way down - way down
and so be not lost nor dreary
Find the sacred valley
aiding little streams
to pour in these nine cups
empty at the mountain's foot.
