Bread has just gotten very expensive in Canada since COVID - basic, bland, never mold cuz of chemicals store brand breads are $3.50 a loaf, decent loafs are $5, and "culinary" loafs, which used to be $4-$6 before COVID are approaching $10. Even hamburger buns, which used to be $4 for a pkg of 8 pre COVID, are like $6-7 now.
I've always baked breads as a fun hobby, but never regularly. 6mo ago, it became regular. We don't buy bread any longer. I bake. Like this
