Which continent? Starting from where? The world is about the same size as ours. Transport is on foot, by horse-cart or pack train- which is slow, ox-cart- which is slower, river barge, or sail across open water. (And the sail is 'age of pirates', not 'Yankee Clippers' speeds).
People mostly travel for religion, diplomacy or trade, with a few exceptions like Florian Hupfnagl, who travels to opera houses.
