I never did get to setting up my Steam Deck on Saturday. That has been fixed.
First impressions with zero gameplay time.
Initial boot up and set up are very simple. the OLED screen is very sharp and the controls are very responsive.
I have a very small collection of Steam games that take up less that 50gb of space so I downloaded them all.
When downloading, it was nice that Proton was added without any interaction and all the games loaded without issue.
The size of the device is pretty overwhelming compared to a Switch but somehow its pretty comfy to hold without being weird. It also fits perfectly on my iPad holder so I can run it on my desk as a separate device.
I know it sounds weird but I am going to test out one of my xbox controllers on it. I would not use the device controller unless I am traveling. I see this as more of a mobile console than handheld.
