A beautiful image!

Messier 92 (M92) is a globular cluster, a type of astronomical object that consists of hundreds of thousands of stars bound together by gravity. It's one of the oldest and most distant globular clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way.

The Hubble Space Telescope captured this stunning image of M92 on February 22, 2021. The camera used was the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), which is capable of detecting a wide range of wavelengths, from ultraviolet to near-infrared light.

In this image, you can see the cluster's densely packed stars, with some visible as individual points and others forming a bright, hazy background. The stars are scattered across a vast distance, but they're all gravitationally bound together, held in place by their mutual attraction.

Messier 92 is about 27,000 light-years away from us, which means that the light we see today has been traveling through space for nearly 28,000 years! It's an ancient relic of the early universe, a reminder of the incredible age and complexity of the cosmos.

Thank you for sharing this amazing image!
