Don't know who needs to hear this but if you believe that there is any validity in 'spheres of influence' you are part of the problem. Ukraine is not in Russia's 'sphere of influence'. The Uighurs don't just 'belong' to China.
None of this shit is predetermined by anything. You do NOT have to play into the game of nation states and absorb authoritarian logic uncritically.
This is why I do not take 'left' critiques seriously unless they put people before states. No exceptions.
